I love life!
I love watching my husband with Aiden. It is so special. This evening I spied on him as he read Aiden a book and said prayers with him. It just makes my heart overflow with joy to know that Aiden has a father who loves him so much and who will make sure he grows up with a testimony of his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Aiden may not know exactly what is going on when we say prayers with him and read scriptures to him, but I know he feels the Spirit. Being together as a family is so special. I am so grateful!

My very vocal son...
When I was little I was a talker (okay maybe I still am). When I would get home from school I would want to tell my mom EVERYTHING about my day...down to the color of scissors I got to use. I would talk so much my mom would make me follow her around while she did laundry or other stuff because she said she wouldn't have gotten anything done. Can you picture it? This poor little kindergartener who just wants to tell her mom about the pretty shape the glue made as it dried on her desk and her mom makes her follow her around to tell her about it. Shameful! Lol. Well, I think my son is going to take after me. No matter where he is, crib, floor, excersaucer, he is jabbering away like a madman. I LOVE IT! Here's a small sample. :)
New experiences
I can't believe how big my baby boy is getting! Lately when we have gone grocery shopping he has been very angry about staying in his car seat. He has started sitting pretty well so we tried an experiment the other day. See how he did!
He loved being a big boy!
And here's a video:

Just chillin...
I love my little boy. It continues to amaze me the overwhelming love I feel for this little life. I can't imagine life without him. Thinking back on the 8 years I spent at Wal-Mart; recruiting, traveling, managing projects...all of it seems so insignificant now. It almost seems like a different person. Caring for a child of God, nurturing his spirit, looking forward to his future, this is what life is really about. Having an incredible husband and a beautiful son, being sealed in the temple to be together eternally makes any other success in life seem so small. It may be difficult at times, learning what to do, how best to do things as a mother, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love you Aiden!

Oh sleep...where have you gone?
So Aiden has been a difficult little guy from the beginning when it comes to sleeping. Early on he had lots of gas problems (mostly solved now since I stopped eating dairy) and that kept him up a lot. Then he turned into an escape artist. No matter how tight or which way I swaddled him, his little arms would find their way out and then he would rub his eyes, suck his hands, etc. and keep himself from going back to sleep. We tried crying it out, we tried checking every 5 min, 10 min, 15 min. We tried so many methods and ways that I thought I would go crazy. Finally a person, who I now worship, taught me a swaddle I had never seen and that Aiden cannot get out of. Amazing. Took him 30 minutes but he is now asleep...all on his own. We'll see how tonight goes, but this is a promising start. I love you Erin!
Maybe now I can stop having mental breakdowns in the middle of the night...

An old video...
I have to go back historically a little and share my favorite video of Aiden. He did this when he was about 3 months old and finding his "voice". Funny thing is that he says "hi" so clearly that most people think it was either dubbed or that he actually knew he was saying it. But no...he just made a funny noise and it came out amazingly clear. He is so cute!

Aiden
Aiden's new favorite thing is to stand (with a little support) in front of any mirror and smile at the little boy he sees. I think they are best friends :)
Just to clarify
So I realized my picnic post possibly made it sound like I don't enjoy cooking...I actually love cooking. But every once in a while I need a break. Here are some pics we took while cooking dinner last night just to prove I do like it! Lol. We were making a homemade pizza with a yummy pizza crust recipe. Man I love my Kitchenaid mixer...I can whip out a pizza crust in about 3-4 minutes. Yum :)
My adorable little boy!

Not sure if Aiden is smiling...or something else :)
Picnic in the park
There are some advantages to living in Texas this time of year...one being that it's still warm enough to go for picnics. Aiden decided to be a grump most of today so we decided to go the park and have a picnic for dinner since Aiden loves being outside so much (and it meant I didn't have to cook dinner!). It was great to get out and enjoy a beautiful evening and be together as a family!

Still not so sure about this...
Hi everyone!
I really can't believe I am doing this, especially considering how bad I am at taking pics...or remembering my camera to begin with, but I decided it may actually be fun to share every detail of every single thing I do with my family with the world wide web. Or maybe not. Maybe I will just stick to the good, the fun, and maybe sometimes the sad. Plus I figure it is a more exciting way to share with my family and friends since we are stuck in the big state of Texas for a while longer. Sorry Texas...don't mean to knock you, but I miss Arkansas (and anyone who knows me would agree it would take a lot to get me to say that!).
So here is my journey into blogging. Hope you all enjoy!
